Michelle Lynn Monaghan Bio

Michelle Lynn Monaghan, born on the 23rd of March, 1976 was an American actress. Her most well-known work includes her leading roles in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Gone Baby Gone (2007), Made of Honor (2008), Eagle Eye (2008), Trucker (2008), Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015), and Patriots Day (2016). She also has been recognized for her role as Julia Meade in the action spy film series Mission: Impossible, appearing in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018).On the television screen, Monaghan starred as Maggie Hart in the initial season of the anthology crime-drama show True Detective (2014), in which she earned a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. She was also a character on Sarah Lane on the drama series The Path (2016-18). Monaghan starred as Eva Geller in the 2020 Netflix thriller series Messiah and the show was cancelled after a single season. Monaghan was the child of Sharon Hammel (a factory worker) in Winthrop. Bob as well as John are her older brothers. Monaghan is from Irish and German descent was raised Catholic and graduated East Buchanan High School 1994. She relocated to Chicago after graduating to study journalism at Columbia College Chicago. Then she started modeling. She modeled in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as in the United States. In 1999, she had one more semester to finish her degree in journalism. Then, she moved to New York to pursue an acting career. She was a model as well as appearing in various catalogs and magazines prior to beginning her acting career. Monaghan's initial two television appearances, which were in a secondary role she played Caroline Busse in episodes of Young Americans, which aired in 2000. She also appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in "Consent" the episode that aired on January 19, 2001, and she made her first big-screen appearance the following year with Perfume, playing the part of Henrietta. Her next film, again in a supporting role in 2002, was Unfaithful with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
