Don Rickles Biography

Don Rickles was an American stand-up comedian, author and actor. He was well-known and well-respected entertainer. His quick wit, hilarious remarks and genuine care for his fans created an unstoppable mix of fun, laughter and entertainment. The ability of his insults to sound funny and inoffensive made him a regular on the celebrity roast circuits. His insults that were cruel and savage, attracted a lot of attention. Yet, the recipient would laugh. He started his comedy career performing prepared jokes. However, he discovered that the audience liked his spontaneous insults over the more conventional material. His unique style of comedy drew him many of his fans, which included the great Frank Sinatra. In addition to being featured in a variety of films and TV shows he also had two comedy albums. He was awarded many prizes, including a Lifetime Achievement award at The Comedy Awards. His style of comedy that incorporated insinuations earned him many nicknames like 'The Merchant of Venom' The Insultan'and 'Mr. He was a stand-up comic and earned a number of nicknames, including "The Merchant of Venom" and 'The Insultan' 'Mr. His stand-up comedy began as a way to supplement his income and he eventually created his "insult comedian" brand. In the 1970s, he began by playing a key character in the film "Kelly's Heroes" (1970), starring Clint Eastwood. He appeared in a variety of comedies on television such as  The Dean Martin Roasts (1973) and 'The Don Rickles show' (1972). Don Rickles married Barbara Sklar on the 14th of March in 1965. The couple had two kids including daughter Mindy and Larry, their son. Larry. Their son died in the year 2011. His most cherished friend was Bob Newhart and the two often vacationed together along with their wives. They appeared together on many shows such as  Newhart.' Don Rickles died of kidney disease on the 6th of April, 2017 at his residence in Beverly Hills, California.
