Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and in the past, she taught cooking. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature hairstyle and her spiky, blond locks as well as her pumped up personality, reveals basic techniques anyone can learn. Chef Burrell was also employed by many of the best restaurants within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell was able to discover a love of cooking and food at the age of a child. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America after earning a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) and attended in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy, which has influenced the way she cooks. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. Additionally, she is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids with disabilities. She travels frequently around the nation in her capacity as a mentor, and also a public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne stated that she felt privileged having the opportunity to impart her enthusiasm to many others.
